Material Handler/Melter
Shift: 3rd
This position is responsible for preparing metal at the proper temperature to pour castings in the Foundry. Prepare furnace charges per the casting schedule. Keep furnaces and furnace caps and seals clean. Monitor furnace condition. Transfer metal to cast facility or to holding furnace. De-gas metal as necessary. Assist in pouring castings. Bring metal into specification with additions. Adjust chemistry as needed. Identify metals through testing. Sort and dry charge material. Provide alloy information resulting in the most cost efficient method of utilizing existing charge material. Load and unload charge material from incoming vendors. Enter inventory information in computer. Provide efficiency information for foundry job cards. Maintain metal inventory from vendors.Qualifications:
Prior foundry experience preferred. Prior Forklift operation/certification required. Capable of lifting, pushing and pulling 50 pounds. Must be able to follow written and verbal procedures.
