Machinist - Turret Lathe
Shift: 2nd OR 3rd
Set-up, adjust and operate Turret Lathes and Automatic Chuckers (AC’s) or other machine tools to perform a variety of operations on diversified line of work to close tolerance and finish requirements. Work from routings, process sheets and blueprints. Use a variety of precision instruments to set-up and inspect work. Select and prepare tools to meet varying conditions and materials. May recommend tooling arrangement, fixtures and operational sequences. Operate secondary machine and/or perform auxiliary operations when applicable. Initiate change requests for process changes. Maintain accurate records of production operations. Check own work using a variety of measuring instruments to ensure adherence to quality standards.Qualifications:
Solid knowledge of machine shop and tooling applications and experience on Turret Lathes and/or other large diameter lathes. AC set-up experience a plus. Solid background in blueprint reading and shop math. Experience in use of hoists and cranes. Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
