Shaping can take many forms from the fine detail of investment castings, through larger featured sand castings, to finish machined components. MetalTek provides a solution to the ongoing combined challenges of shaping with internal metal soundness.
We combine near net shaping capabilities with the superior centrifugal process. Large O.D. features are cast in, so machining and processing costs are significantly reduced compared to fabrications and hog-outs. Plus, the centrifugal process provides superior metallurgical and structural integrity throughout the part wall. Tooling and patterns costs are low, making near net shaping a good value for low to medium volume programs.
For a more precise centrifugal, MetalTek combines the detailed capabilities of investment castings with the integrity of the centrifugal to produce a true net-shape. For higher volume applications, net shaping has been shown to save tens of thousands of dollars in machining cost per part for complex components.
