Centrifugal Castings & Vertical Centrifugal Castings

The MetalTek Centrifugal Castings Advantage

MetalTek’s foundry and centrifugal casting experience goes back more than 60 years. Our engineering and metallurgy expertise, particularly for rigorous and demanding applications, is recognized worldwide.

Our net-shaping expertise helps mold products that minimize many post-processing operations and machining. Concurrent engineering and a very wide array of available die patterns leads to minimum tool investment in centrifugal castings.

Computer controlled in-house heat treating facilities, extensive machining capability, full traceability of products from raw material through finished goods, and comprehensive in-process NDE combine to make MetalTek your Centrifugal Casting Supplier of Choice.

MetalTek Centrifugal Casting Advantages using Argon Oxygen Decarburization

No Tooling Cost:

Due to our extensive die inventory, there is often no cost for tooling.

Argon Oxygen Decarburization (AOD)

yields certified quality alloys
with ultra low impurities and gas levels.

Heat-Treated Centrifugal Castings

Centrifugal castings are often heat-treated to change or improve their properties

Vertical Centrifugal Casting Process

MetalTek Vertical Centrifugal Casting Process

In the centrifugal castings process, molten metal is poured into a die which can be spinning either vertically or horizontally depending on part configuration. This spinning forces the heavier metal to the O.D., while impurities and oxides are forced to the I.D. The metal solidifies from the outside in, leaving no mid-wall shrinkage. Impurities in the center bore are then machined away leaving a defect-free structure without shrinkage cavities or gas pockets.
