Special Machining And Tooling
Converting multi-piece fabrications to single piece castings is a MetalTek strength, but those conversions can bring new machining challenges. One customer had tried unsuccessfully to change to a single piece component to eliminate a troublesome weld. Special MetalTek fixturing to machine an 8" deep groove in a 12" diameter part completed the conversion and the customer realized a 70% processing cost reduction.
