Alloy Grade UNS: C95220 – Unusually High Yield Strength

  • Overview

This alloy combines good tensile and unusually high yield strength with good hardness and fair elongation to make it a popular gear, worm wheel, and bushing alloy. It is tough, stands up to overload, and resists “squashing" or "peening". It has good fatigue strength, good ductility, good rubbing resistance, and excellent corrosion resistance. It can be welded into complex assemblies and has good machinability.

  • Typical Uses

It is ideal for medium to heavy gears, bushings, bearings, and worm wheel applications such as boom hoists and winches, rollers, and machine tool parts subject to shock or impact. Also used in marine propulsion, pickling equipment, pump and valve components, seals, wear rings, and wear-resistant parts.
