Alloy Grade UNS: C97300 Nickel-Leaded Bronze Alloy

  • Overview

C97300 is a high nickel-leaded bronze alloy. It is commonly called nickel silver because the material has a grey or silver appearance rather than the normal bronze color. Another alternative name is leaded nickel brass. It has excellent corrosion resistance, however, it has low tensile strength and a low melting temperature. This alloy does not respond to heat treating.

  • Typical Uses

Steam applications in turbines and pumps, packing rings, seal rings, labyrinth rings, and valve components and fittings.

  • MetalTek Grade
