Overview
CY 40 steel is a nickel-chromium alloy. Good strength and toughness from cryogenic to elevated temperatures. It has good weldability, castability, and machinability. It has fairly high ductility. The comparable wrought alloy is INCONEL 600.
Typical Uses
Chemical and food processing equipment, nuclear flow control.
