Alloy Grade UNS: CF8C – Austenitic Stainless Steel

  • Overview

The CF8C austenitic stainless steel is a popular alloy for applications where extensive welding is to be done without subsequent heat treatment and for extended service at elevated temperatures in the 900° to 1200° F range. It has good machining and welding characteristics and is slightly magnetic. It provides great wear and galling resistance along with good toughness.

  • Typical Uses

Bearings, pump and valve components, chemical and food processing equipment, heat exchangers, pulp/paper applications, aircraft shroud assemblies, turbine engine parts, and marine fittings.

  • MetalTek Grade

    MTEK 347
