Alloy Grade UNS: S43000 – Martensitic Stainless Steel

  • Overview

S43000 martensitic stainless steel is a non-hardenable, straight chrome alloy with excellent resistance to corrosives such as nitric acid, oil, steam, and oxidizing environments to 1400 degrees Fahrenheit (760 degrees Celsius). Parts produced of this alloy are magnetic and have a low coefficient of thermal expansion comparable to carbon steel. It is readily machined and can be welded. This alloy is also known as MTEK 430.

  • Typical Uses

Chemical, oil, and food handling equipment. Also pump and valve components.

  • MetalTek Grade
