MetalTek Corporate Overview

Defense. Aerospace. Petrochemical. Turbine Engine. Nuclear. Energy. Marine. Paper. Process Equipment. What do companies in these industries have in common? They demand more from their metals suppliers. They demand highly engineered products that stand up to extreme temperature, severe wear, and harsh corrosive environments. Components made to the most exacting specifications and compliant to the industry's most rigorous standards. Who do the world's leading companies partner with to manufacture these critical components for their world-class products? MetalTek International.

Investment Casting / Lost Wax Process

In lost wax investment casting, a sacrificial detailed wax pattern of the desired finished part is created and mounted onto a wax "tree", which includes the metal delivery system (gates and risers). The tree is alternately dipped into a ceramic slurry and sprinkled with stucco material, and is allowed to dry. This process is repeated until a thick shell is created over the wax pattern. The wax pattern is melted out leaving a cavity in the shape of the pattern. The cavity is filled with molten metal. After solidification, the shell is broken away, the gating material removed, and the finished part remains.

Horizontal Centrifugal Casting

What is centrifugal casting? This video shows what happens during the centrifugal casting process. High g-forces applied to the molten metal in the spinning die move the less dense material, including impurities, to the I.D. where it is subsequently removed by machining.

Vertical Centrifugal Casting

MetalTek - Turbine Engine Market

Our Turbine Engine customers require integrity, traceability, and conformance to stringent industry standards and certifications. Jet engine manufacturers have reduced machining costs by 80 percent using our unique Net-Shape technologies which combine the benefits of investment and centrifugal casting processes. Helping to make MetalTek a near 100 percent supplier of compressor cases for the world's jet engines.

MetalTek - Defense Market

The Defense industry stretches the limits of performance. Engineering collaboration with MetalTek helps meet those challenges with innovative products and processes. Metal Matrix Composite material developed by MetalTek solved the Navy's wear problem when they switched to non-asbestos drum linings on winches that transfer supplies from replenishment vessels.

MetalTek - Petrochem Market

Petrochemical processing plants demand safety in extreme, high temperature and pressure conditions. Customers specify exceptional MetalTek alloys for superior performance and productivity in fabricated assemblies that operate under pressure at 1700 to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, for 10 years or more.

MetalTek - Industrial Market

Thousands of customers in food processing, paper, power generation, and countless industrial markets demand and get more than metal from MetalTek. Our singular ability to make very large investment castings eliminates costly fabrication and polishing while conforming to strict specifications like USDA certified meat grinding.
