Metal Machining

Over 200 Metal Machining Centers To Meet Exact Customer Specifications

From turning to boring to drilling, MetalTek’s rough metal machining and finish metal machining capabilities meet demanding customer requirements up to 200” (5,000 mm) outer diameter (O.D.) and up to 200,000 pounds (90,718 kg). Our ability to bore centrifugal castings up to 50’ (15 m) in length is matched by few metal machine shops in the world.

Our metal machining is focused on our customer's specific project needs. Our metal machining capabilities extend to standard dimensions but also to unusual shapes and sizes such as balls, spherical configurations, as well as those calling for special tools or fixtures. Reclaiming machine chips allows us to offer competitive metal machining costs for the parts that we cast. If we somehow cannot meet a customer’s machining specifications, we rely on one of our trusted outside metal machining partners.

Machining at MetalTek is performed at Wisconsin Centrifugal and Sandusky International using computer numerical control (CNC) technology. CNC machining uses a computer program to automate and control the movements of the machine during metal machining. Each MetalTek facility uses its full range of metallurgy & engineering, metal casting, heat treatment, metal fabrication, and metal testing & metal analysis capabilities to partner with customers for their entire product journey - from design to delivery.
