Blog MetalTek Names David Bacon CEO

MetalTek International today announced the appointment of David Bacon as Chief Executive Officer. Bacon succeeds E.J. Kubick, who is retiring as CEO after leading the company since 2019. Kubick will transition to the role of Executive Vice Chairman for a planned two- to three-year period, supporting MetalTek’s long-term strategic direction.

“MetalTek conducted a thoughtful and comprehensive search to identify the right leader for our future,” said Kubick. “We found that leader in David. He has more than 25 years of operational and commercial leadership experience in industrial manufacturing and advanced materials and is a hands-on, people-focused executive. David is the right person to lead MetalTek into its next chapter of growth.”

Bacon joins MetalTek with more than 25 years of leadership experience in industrial manufacturing and advanced materials. Most recently, he served as CEO of Halocarbon, where he led a significant business transformation, driving strong revenue and profitability growth while strengthening the company’s safety culture and expanding its position in high-value markets such as aerospace and defense, pharmaceuticals, and microelectronics. Prior to Halocarbon, Bacon held executive leadership positions with NCH Corporation and Celanese, served as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, and began his career as a chemical engineer with Exxon. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arkansas and will be based in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
