Ethylene Cracking Tubes

Ethylene cracking tubes turn complex hydrocarbons such as ethane and propane into less complex hydrocarbons such as ethylene and propylene. These are the building blocks for important products such as chemicals and plastics. During ethylene cracking tube coil assemblies containing the feedstock reach temperatures approaching 2,000°F (about 1,100°C) inside a furnace. Ethylene cracking tubes must operate for several years in this extreme, high-heat environment with limited downtime. MetalTek uses both traditional and alumina forming alloys to manufacture centrifugally cast ethylene cracking tubes, providing extended life through reliability and resistance to coking and carburization.
